Inquiry – Science
We worked really hard as scientists last week and sorted our random objects and classified them by what might happen to them if they are heated. It was very interesting and great to be so ‘hands on’ for our science learning. We used technical words such as ‘disintergrate’ ‘melt’ ‘burn’. The next step as scientists is to PLAN our own experiments and make some HYPOTHESES about what we think might happen.
We will briefly touch this week on the scientific principle of ‘3 States of Matter’ of solid, liquid and gases to help us understand how heat can effect different objects.
Donations please
We are looking to create some melted crayon decorated jars with tea light candles for our enterprise day stall called HEAT CAN DO THIS! We may even make some candles if we get enough crayons!
Please send in any empty clean jars (no lids required) or old crayons or tea light candles you may have lying around your house. Thanks for those who already have sent in some.
We will also need to borrow a few hair dryers in Week 10!
