The last week of Term 1 already.
It’s going to be a busy week!
Enterprise Day will take up a lot of the learning time this week with preparations for ‘The Melting Station’ stall that we are running. Not only will we be busy finishing our crayon melting (the jars look awesome thanks to some amazing parent volunteers) we are practicing our financial skills of counting totals of money and giving change. Our English focus will be on using persuasive language to convince customers to come to our stall.
Enterprise Day
Wednesday 11th April – 12:00pm-2:00pm
Our stall will be at the Eastern end of the Mortlock building under the veranda (outside the hall)
Please send your child with some spending money – $5 is plenty
Parent are very welcome and encourage Grandparents as well. There are a few food stalls and the coffee van
Room 14 will have ‘shifts’ for when they must be our shop assistants and our walking billboards (their idea!!) At other times they are able to be customers and walk around the other stalls.
Science Excursion
Thursday 12th April
We will be leaving school at 9:30am to head to Wayville showgrounds for a Sciworld Pop-up Science workshop. We will be participating a Heat workshop, Stardome and exhibits and a Chemistry is Cool show. We are going with Room 13 and 15.
We aim to be back at school aproximately 2:15pm.
Please pack your child a lunch and drink bottle in a SMALLER bag that they can carry themselves (school bags are a little too big to fit on the bus). Thank you to the 3 parents who have volunteered to come with us…I will email you some more specific details.
Friday – last day of term – early dismissal @2:10pm
Home Learning
Just the usual ‘Essential Three’ this week and the spelling sound is a ‘soft c’. The kids are making great progress in their ‘Math Fluency goals’ and most should have a new goal to focus on.
There are some holiday challenges that might break some of the boredom of holidays but remember its OK for kids to be bored!
